Mayu Carmenere Gran Reserva

19.95

From the driest desert on earth come the exceptional wines from Vina Mayu. Founded in 2005 by the Olivier family, the Elqui Valley lays in Northern Chile. With clear skies and high elevation, the name Mayu comes from the Inca word for the Milky Way’s “river of stars”. The region is famous for star-gazing and the Olivier family is determined to make it famous for wine.

Carmenere is a grape synonymous with Chilean viticulture. The grapes are hand picked for this wine and aged in stainless steel tanks and the partially in American oak barrels. A medium-bodied and ripe expression of the varietal, it exudes plum, black cherry and tobacco. This wine screams for something off the bbq like a Korean inspired pork chop or rack of ribs!
