2018 JM Dupre Beaujolais Villages

2018 JM Dupre Beaujolais Villages

Jean-Michel basically started from nothing, with only 2ha of farmland left to him by his father. He didn’t hesitate when asked to succeed his father and immediately started looking for high quality vineyard plots well situated through Beaujolais. He converted old farm buildings in to his winery. Jean-Michel farms his vineyards organically and vinifies his grape in whole clusters to maintain the purity of fruit and freshness one comes to expect from gamay.

The grapes for this Beaujolais Villages come from a vineyard planted in 1940. It is an excellent value wine made from vines over 70 years old! Gamay noir makes some of our favourite summer reds and this wine is no exception. Soft and light on the palate but full of flavours of strawberry, raspberry and cranberry. Serve it slightly chilled to thoroughly enjoy its juicy, refreshing quality.
