2017 JM Dupre Morgon

Jean-Michel basically started from nothing, with only 2ha of farmland left to him by his father. He didn’t hesitate when asked to succeed his father and immediately started looking for high quality vineyard plots well situated through Beaujolais. He converted old farm buildings in to his winery. Jean-Michel farms his vineyards organically and vinifies his grape in whole clusters to maintain the purity of fruit and freshness one comes to expect from gamay.

The grapes for this wine come from a single vineyard planted in 1935 in the cru of Morgon. It is here that the volcanic soil influence really shines through. Medium weight, it has savoury notes of licorice, black pepper & ripe red cherry. A wine made for the dinner (or lunch) table, pair it up with grilled chicken and a plethora of grilled veggies.

500 cases produced.
